Sept. 17
We went fishing at Lake Roberts. As usual, the lake was pretty but neurotic. The water was very high----as high as I’ve ever seen it! It reached the path in several spots and completely covered the little ledge in our cove. There was some sub-surface grass but nothing compared to the summer growth.
The trout, as usual, had issues w/ biting. Not one gave us even a nibble, however, Howard caught and released at least 60 large mouth bass. Some were the size of his hand, but others barely the size of his thumb. They hit immediately---over and over again.
We went out in the boat and the wind eventually drove us back to shore, but with nary a nibble from any fish at all, it wasn’t a big deal.
Howard was a little under the weather---a little bit of a cough, congestion, and a general malaise.
